The third mixtape by Kid Ink called “Wheels Up” does not
disappoint to the least. With features
like Tyga, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Travis Porter, and Nipsey Hussel, “Wheels up”
delivers the best tracklist of songs. Songs like “What I do” produced by
T-Nyce, and “Get Mine” produced by Megaman, shows Kid Ink’s career about to
take off hence the “Wheels Up”. I like his style in all of the songs, the beats
are always good, and his lines are always clever. Again Kid Ink comes with that consistency, but
does something different with each mixtape. Other songs like “Tuna Roll”, “Rocking”,
“Stop”, and “Up On It” have more of an upbeat club sound to them. Which on
today’s top songs club/party based songs are what people want to hear, and usually
do the most successful on the charts. After this mixtape came out I knew that
it is only uphill for him now. “Tuna Roll” was released as a single on ITunes
on January 20, 2012. Making his fans really happy and getting new ones. He also
has music videos out from the singles on the mixtape; “Get mine featuring
Nipsey Hussel”, “Tuna Roll”, and “Never Change”, each getting over 100,000
views on Youtube. “Get mine” even made it on MTV Jams, it’s a hard thing to do
when you are an up and comer. This mixtape shows Kid Ink’s growth as an artist,
and he is still growing. I won’t be surprised if more of his singles on “Wheels
Up” go to ITunes, they all show his potential.
