Kid Ink's second mixtape "Daydreamer" really caught my
attention. Songs like "Cali Dreamin", "It's on", and
"Star of the show" really made him stand out to me more, and helped
me really appreciate him as an artist. The mixtape had features like Sean
Kingston, Tory Lanez, Meek Mill, Ray J, and plenty more. With the talented
features, he also had successful producers like Jahlil Beats, Lex Luger, The
Runners, and KE on the beat. These producers worked with artists like Kanye
West, Jay z, Lil Wayne, and many more. It goes to show you don’t need a record
label to work with the big names in hip hop. This mixtape did a good job on showing Kid Ink’s
consistency and individuality as an artist. If you like hip hop you will notice
that Kid Ink sound is Los Angeles inspired at its finest, but to me I feel like
he does more to the sound to make it more of his own. The song “I just want it
all” really shows Kid Ink’s desire, and how bad he really wants to make it in
the hip-hop world. Then you got songs like “Lowkey Poppin”, “It’s On”, and “Sick
Em” which does a good job of pumping you up and makes me personally really want
to go to the gym. The mixtape “Daydreamer” not only does it give different
moods of music, but gives you a taste on what is more to come. This mixtape is
my personal favorite because no matter how many times I listen to it, it never
gets old. Kid Ink is an artist I can say that will never be looked down on. He
has stars on his eyes, and his mind on the prize.
