Conclusion

Making it in the competitive game of hip hop consists of three things beats, lyrics, and originality. Kid Ink exceeds all three, and does it well. With “Time Of Your Life”, going up the charts and his three mixtapes, Kid Ink has created a sound different than many artists, and in an industry that’s easy to be forgotten Kid Ink is making his statement clear. A Twitter post Kid Ink posted a couple weeks ago says “Crash Landed into the game… Daydreamed where it would take us… then it was Wheels Up ready for takeoff… now were Up and Away”. I love that quote because it shows all of Kid Ink’s hard work in order, first “Crash Landing”, then “Daydreamer”, and “Wheels Up” and that last part I think means his single “Time Of Your Life”. It shows me that Kid Ink did all that hard work for a purpose that he will achieve. Doing all of this music without any record contracts, or record deals is really uncommon, and hard to do. That is why Kid Ink is my favorite artist, because he is just an average guy with big dream, and is achieving those dreams with his own hard work. Kid Inks story is really inspiring and makes you feel if you keep your head held high, and got ambitions anything is possible. It’s crazy watching your favorite artist rise to fame so fast. Kid Ink deserves what he has got going for him. It’s only a matter of time before he really blows up. Kid Ink is someone that is going to add well to the hip hop scene, him and like many young artists they need that one opportunity. I hope you enjoyed all my posts on Kid Ink, support this young talented artist he will not let you down.

Kid Ink has built quite a style in the rap game. Tha Alumni clothing mostly promoted by Kid Ink and manager Dj Ill Will has really become popular among fans. You can buy anything from Alumni hats (snapbacks and fitted), Alumni sweatshirts, and Alumni T-Shirts. Not only is Tha Alumni a clothing line, it is also a music group. Artists like Kid Ink, Jahlil Beats, Cardiak, Young Jerz, and Sean Brown are all a part of Tha Alumni team. With soon to be breakthrough artist like Kid Ink, in the future you will be hearing more from Tha Alumni team.  Which has potential of being really soon, the single “Time Of Your Life” produced by Ned Cameron has been going up the charts in the first week alone it sold 18.5 thousand copies on ITunes. With it playing on random radio stations around the country, Kid Ink on Facebook and Twitter is telling his fans to request “Time Of Your Life” to your local radio stations. Haven’t heard the song around played at York yet, but it is only a matter of time. “Time Of Your Life” is a good upbeat positive song, that makes you want to go out and have a good time. When you listen to Kid Ink you have to believe big things, because he is a youngster that is making moves. If you are reading this and do not own Kid Ink’s newest single, I promise you that you will not regret it. Kid Ink’s songs are pretty addicting, maybe you can get in the Kid Ink addiction.

Wheels Up

The third mixtape by Kid Ink called “Wheels Up” does not disappoint to the least.  With features like Tyga, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Travis Porter, and Nipsey Hussel, “Wheels up” delivers the best tracklist of songs. Songs like “What I do” produced by T-Nyce, and “Get Mine” produced by Megaman, shows Kid Ink’s career about to take off hence the “Wheels Up”. I like his style in all of the songs, the beats are always good, and his lines are always clever.  Again Kid Ink comes with that consistency, but does something different with each mixtape. Other songs like “Tuna Roll”, “Rocking”, “Stop”, and “Up On It” have more of an upbeat club sound to them. Which on today’s top songs club/party based songs are what people want to hear, and usually do the most successful on the charts. After this mixtape came out I knew that it is only uphill for him now. “Tuna Roll” was released as a single on ITunes on January 20, 2012. Making his fans really happy and getting new ones. He also has music videos out from the singles on the mixtape; “Get mine featuring Nipsey Hussel”, “Tuna Roll”, and “Never Change”, each getting over 100,000 views on Youtube. “Get mine” even made it on MTV Jams, it’s a hard thing to do when you are an up and comer. This mixtape shows Kid Ink’s growth as an artist, and he is still growing. I won’t be surprised if more of his singles on “Wheels Up” go to ITunes, they all show his potential.

Day Dreamer

Kid Ink's second mixtape "Daydreamer" really caught my attention. Songs like "Cali Dreamin", "It's on", and "Star of the show" really made him stand out to me more, and helped me really appreciate him as an artist. The mixtape had features like Sean Kingston, Tory Lanez, Meek Mill, Ray J, and plenty more. With the talented features, he also had successful producers like Jahlil Beats, Lex Luger, The Runners, and KE on the beat. These producers worked with artists like Kanye West, Jay z, Lil Wayne, and many more. It goes to show you don’t need a record label to work with the big names in hip hop.  This mixtape did a good job on showing Kid Ink’s consistency and individuality as an artist. If you like hip hop you will notice that Kid Ink sound is Los Angeles inspired at its finest, but to me I feel like he does more to the sound to make it more of his own. The song “I just want it all” really shows Kid Ink’s desire, and how bad he really wants to make it in the hip-hop world. Then you got songs like “Lowkey Poppin”, “It’s On”, and “Sick Em” which does a good job of pumping you up and makes me personally really want to go to the gym. The mixtape “Daydreamer” not only does it give different moods of music, but gives you a taste on what is more to come. This mixtape is my personal favorite because no matter how many times I listen to it, it never gets old. Kid Ink is an artist I can say that will never be looked down on. He has stars on his eyes, and his mind on the prize.

Introduction

Kid Ink is a Los Angeles hip hop artist that is just blowing up the underground. Kid Ink’s first mixtape “Crash Landing” has become really popular on the internet with fifty thousand downloads in the first week alone. Songs on the mixtape like “La La La”. And “Keep it rollin” really made him quite the internet sensation. It really grabbed my attention on him, and I was amazed that he was doing this all without being signed by any record labels. He is my favorite artist right now, and it is really awesome watching him grow as an artist. Fame is beginning to be eye level with him, if you don’t know who Kid Ink is yet; I will assure you that you will be hearing him a lot in the future. On youtube alone he has over ten million hits and counting, creating a wide spread of listeners from all over the world. All you need to make it in the “game” is that one song that can be a radio hit that separates one artists from the others. For Wiz Khalifa it was “Black and Yellow”, for B.o.B. it was “Airplanes”, and Big Sean it was “I Do It”, it’s only a matter of time before it is Kid Ink. If you really appreciate hip hop, and like different styles of it, Kid Ink will definitely not disappoint. Usually on an album you only like a few select songs, but with Kid Ink you appreciate all of it. Stay tuned for more posts on Kid Inks two other mixtapes, his clothing line/music group, and his newest single.
